DTAN x Outback Arthouse: a flowerpot that could be easily fabricated for the community. The form is minimal, so it works as a centerpiece or as a series in whatever setting it's placed, and it was taken from dimensioned drawings to a built piece.
Overview
- Brief
A flowerpot that's easy to fabricate for the community, in collaboration with Outback Arthouse.
- Design response
A minimal form that can stand alone as a centerpiece or repeat as a series.
Design language
Minimal by design: few parts and simple cuts, so the community can build it and it can live alone or in a row.
- Form
A bent plane that lifts and cradles a cast pot, turning a houseplant into a small piece of furniture.
- Material
Warm wood against a mottled blue cast pot: craft and texture in one object.
- Proportion
Dimensioned to repeat cleanly, so several read as a series as easily as one reads as a centerpiece.
